Video of Vadodara police beating a child goes viral


Ankit Ghonsikar, Vadodara: The Gujarat Police is responsible for maintaining law and order in the state. At that time, going to the police, sometimes going beyond the limits of ruthlessness, such inhumane treatment is being inflicted on the people, due to which the image of the police is tarnished in the minds of the people. Gujarat Police is constantly trying to improve its tarnished image by reaching out to the people through various programs. But it is clear from the incident that some of the personnel who have joined the Vadodara Police Department will never allow the tarnished image of the police to improve.

The incident took place at Nandsari police station on the outskirts of Vadodara. Where a minor was having fun with his friend near a Chinese lorry on the road late in the evening. Meanwhile, a police PCR van passed by on the road and a child standing near a Chinese lorry suddenly came in front of the PCR, local sources said. Locals also said that the vehicle came to a halt in front of the PCR and the child rushed towards a nearby shop and entered inside. However, a policeman who got out of the PCR van behind the child ran after him as if he was chasing the culprit and reached inside the shop and beat him up. If the policeman’s stomach was not full, the innocent child was brought out of the shop and one of his hands was twisted and slapped.

Customers entering the shop saw the scenes and tried to persuade the policeman. But the policeman in Khaki’s vat kicked the child instead of understanding. The whole incident was captured on a CCTV camera in the shop. It is learned that the child was also seriously injured in the hand due to the beating of the police personnel. Crowds of locals gathered on learning of the incident and Nandser police were informed and police rushed to the spot.

In a telephonic conversation with Nandesari police station inspector SA Karmur, he said, “Yes, such an incident has taken place.” In which a child came in front of the PCR van of the LRD jawan of Chhani police station and hit him. However, the matter is still under investigation.
